For Referring Clinicians
Original research into each patient's unique genetics and biochemical pathways — never a template.
You hold the history, the clinical context, and the primary relationship with your patient. When standard workups return normal but your patient clearly isn't well, genetic interpretation provides the missing diagnostic layer. I work alongside you — not around you. You remain the primary clinician. I provide the genetic roadmap and hand the findings directly back to you.
I provide the longitudinal deep-dive your schedule doesn't allow — reviewing up to ten years of a patient's lab history, identifying the gaps and the additional testing needed, then integrating labs, genetic analysis, and organic acids metabolomics (Krebs cycle, methylation, neurotransmitter synthesis, and nutrient status) across many hours of case work to surface the upstream driver behind a multi-system presentation. You keep the relationship; I do the digging.
Working Together on a Case
I work as an extension of your practice, not a replacement for it. You remain the primary clinician and hold the treatment relationship. I do the deep genetic and metabolic investigation your schedule doesn't allow, then hand the findings directly back to you.
A detailed clinician-facing report — genetic findings, biochemical vulnerabilities, and targeted intervention priorities, written for you
A plain-language root-cause summary your patient leaves with, so they understand their own biology
Comprehensive 3x4 Genetics interpretation — over 176 SNPs across 36 pathways
Longitudinal review of up to ten years of lab history, with the additional testing needed to complete the picture
Integration of labs, genetics, and organic-acids metabolomics into one coherent story
Clinician consultation on complex cases, coordinated with your treatment plan
Ongoing care returns to you as the referring clinician. If a patient wishes to continue directly with me for protocol support, that is always coordinated with your plan. Reach out anytime to discuss a complex case.
Streamlined Process
Three steps. We handle everything in between.
Step 01
Complete the secure referral form below. Shannon will contact your patient directly within 1–2 business days to schedule their discovery call.
Step 02
Your patient completes intake, receives their 3x4 genetics kit, and Shannon conducts the full analysis. You receive a detailed clinician report alongside your patient's root cause summary.
Step 03
A 10–15 page clinical summary is provided to both you and your patient, giving you the genetic context to inform your ongoing treatment plan.
Clinical Applications
When standard workups return "normal" but the patient is clearly not well, genetic interpretation provides the missing diagnostic layer.
DAO · HNMT · Methylation Clearance
The patient presenting with idiopathic urticaria, migraines, and refractory gut issues simultaneously — each managed by a different specialist, none fully resolving. When DAO and HNMT clearance pathways are impaired, histamine accumulates systemically and mimics autoimmune, cardiac, dermatologic, and GI disorders at once. Genetic mapping reveals the single upstream driver creating what looks like four separate diagnoses. Identify the enzymatic bottleneck and the multi-system picture resolves.
MAOA · COMT · GABRA2 Variants
The patient who gets anxiety from B-complex, insomnia from magnesium, or agitation from SSRIs. 'Slow' MAOA and COMT variants dictate neurotransmitter clearance speed, while GABRA2 influences GABAergic tone. Without genetic context, well-intentioned supplementation can flood already-slow pathways, producing the exact opposite of the intended clinical outcome. Genetic mapping turns paradoxical reactions into predictable, manageable patterns.
Persistent Elevated CRP · Methylation · Oxidative Stress
The patient who eats well, exercises, follows every recommendation — and whose inflammatory markers stubbornly refuse to normalize. When CRP stays elevated despite lifestyle intervention, or iron studies remain abnormal despite supplementation, the answer is often upstream in the genetic architecture. Variants in methylation, oxidative stress management, and lipid metabolism pathways explain why standard protocols fail for this specific patient — and exactly where targeted intervention will change the trajectory.
